BRIEF HISTORY OF FHB WATCHES
During the 1970s and 80s, the watch industries in Switzerland manufacturing mechanical watches went through difficult times. Japanese companies such as Seiko and Citizen, well known for their advance technology in watch making and creative designs, revoluntionised the watch industry by launching quartz technology. Superior in accuracy and as well as being far more competitive in pricing than mechanical watches, Seiko and Citizen factories based in Japan and Hong Kong were producing wider ranges of quartz watches, dominated the market around the world, thus forcing smaller Swiss watch factories to close down.
Felix Huber a Swiss was already in the watch business at that time and was also working with "CATENA" and "FERO" brands as a designer. Huber at that point was getting ready to debut his own brand of "FHB" range of watches. However, he realised that it wasn't a good time for the launch of "FHB", in view of the dominance of quartz watches in the market. Huber then decided to shelve the idea, and was subsequently forgotten for more than 40 years.
In 1995, Huber showcased his new series of ZENO-WATCH at Basel Fair and that was the time he was being spotlighted for his marketable timepieces. Following his success, he then acquired a new office premises with a larger storage space. While he was arranging the store one day, he happened to chance across his initial drawings of "FHB" watches, it was this pleasant discovery that "FHB" watches are finally marketed as high quality Swiss quartz watches by Felix Huber.
We thank you for your interest in FHB range of watches.
